Reground Crank

Reground Crank
Reground Crank
What causes crankwalk?

I discovered that my friend's mitsubishi engine (1997) is more prone to crackwalk. What casues crankwalk? and if his engine has the main bearings and main journals reground and use all undersize bearings, will it stop the crank from moving around? Thanks in advance. I don't know much about cars, please, try to explain.

I think It has something to do with the crankshaft doesn't have proper bearing clearence and overtime the crank can move and pushes the rear main seal and starts leaing oil. That's how you know you have "crankwalk". I don't know if regrouding would prevent it from happening again, but by all means, try. Does this help?
