What do I need to do to put my 89 Honda Civic Si Transmission on my JDM DOHC ZC Engine?
My car's a 1989 Honda Civic Si - I have a JDM DOHC ZC Engine & Transmission, The transmission no longer has 2nd gear so I am wanting to put my Original 89 Si Transmission onto the ZC Engine & I need to know what Clutch and/or any other components I need to preform this operation...
I have a friend doing the work, I just dont want to be an idiot and get the wrong parts, I believe all I need is the clutch for the Si but I don't know what Spline that would be, if you can link me up to a cheaper clutch kit online I would appreciate it. thank you for your answers.
Also does anyone know how much of a difference I will feel driving the car with the Si instead of the ZC transmission?
your si tranny should be out of a d series engine, the zc is the dohc member of the d series honda engine as long as your zc is a black top motor your tranny should bolt right on. the si tranny is going to be a much better tranny for your car, i think the only difference is the final drive gear which the si tranny should give you better fuel mileage. you really wont notice much of a difference in the si as apposed to the zc tranny better place to ask that question is d-series.com
